Tasting Notes:
It needs roughly 10-15 minutes to open up before I truly recommend consuming. No matter what stage of evolution the pour is in taffy, brown sugar and sarsaparilla.
But once it initially opens it is so reminiscent of Barbados and Australian style rum, give it a little more time and those rum profiles take a back seat.
Enter your friend's apples and mid age range calvados come say hi and after a little longer of a wait it seems like you showed up to a carnival and decided to snack on cotton candy and bubble gum.
I simply describe it as spicy, dry and complex.
Blender's Story:
Inspired by Scottish independent bottlers and blenders, I set out to create a unique whiskey that honors two exceptional distilleries: Journeyman in Michigan and Nobletons in Missouri.
Journeyman's commitment to organic, locally sourced grains and Nobletons' farm-to-glass approach in the Ozarks provided the perfect foundation for Ritual #5. Both distilleries have been instrumental in our journey, offering guidance and support.
In crafting this blend, I focused on four key elements: representing the terroir of both distilleries, creating a complex whiskey that evolves in the glass, ensuring a unique flavor profile, and producing something both Journeyman and Nobletons would be proud of.
After careful experimentation, I discovered the perfect marriage of two bourbon casks. Ritual #5 celebrates craftsmanship and collaboration, embodying the spirit of both distilleries from grain to glass.
This expression is more than just a whiskey; it's the result of my own artistic journey in blending. I hope it inspires you to explore your passions and discover your art.
To Journeyman and Nobleton's, thank you. To you, enjoy this labor of love and join us in the pursuit of artistry.
